Cranberry Lake is a large, scenic lake located within the Adirondack Park in New York. It is the third-largest lake in the Adirondack Park and is well-known for its remote, natural character. The lake is fed by the Oswegatchie River and serves as a northern gateway to the Five Ponds Wilderness Area. Much of the surrounding shoreline is state-owned and undeveloped. The area is a hub for outdoor activities, including boating, paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. The region features extensive trail systems, most notably the ''Cranberry Lake 50,'' a 50-mile backpacking loop that circumnavigates the lake. Other popular trails include the Bear Mountain Trail and the Peavine Swamp Ski Trail.
